Bereavement Support

The Bereavement Ministry offers support to people who have suffered the death of a loved one. Our mission is to journey with the grieving members of the community.
St. Peter’s offers a regular drop-in support group on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month. The sessions are held in the boardroom at St. Peter’s Parish from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The support group is run by volunteer members of the Pastoral Care team who have completed the Bereavement Education Program from the Diocese of Calgary.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Year-round Inquiry meetings and Catechism classes take place every Thursday evening from 7-9 pm for those interested in finding out about our Catholic faith-family. Adults who are not baptized or already baptized in another Christian tradition are welcome to contact us prior to participating at their first session. Call 403-286-5110, or e-mail rcia@st-peters.ca

For those without previous adult experience in a Christian faith setting, the process can typically take two years to complete. Please note that regular attendance at classes and meetings is expected.

We always have room for more sponsors and experienced Catechists. Please contact Judith for an interview if you feel called to this ministry.

Small Group Communities

Our Small Group Community meets on Wednesday evenings in the Narthex beginning at 7:00 pm.

Both guest speakers and study programs are used to explore the richness of God's Word on Tuesdays from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Fall classes have begun!

Vocations

Our volunteers will pray for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life in our Diocese, and keep in touch with them.

Pastoral Care

We are a dedicated team who visit parishioners who are unable to attend Mass. We bring the Eucharist to them at home or in a care facility.

Adoration

Adoration takes place in the Church on the first Friday of every month from 9:00 am until 6:15 pm. This is our Parish Day of Prayer. Be sure to sign up for an hour to watch and pray with Jesus.

Rosary and Divine Mercy

The Rosary is prayed publicly on weekdays in the Church beginning at 8:00 am.

A Divine Mercy Devotional is prayed in the Church every 1st Friday of the month between 9-10 am, at the beginning of Our Parish Day of Prayer.
