Together in Action

Together in Action is the annual fundraising campaign of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary.

Parishes across the diocese join Together each year to pool their resources. Many worthwhile charitable projects and programs that give hope and change lives come to our parish doors for support each year.  It is difficult for each of us to know who to give to, how much, and if the funds will impact the lives of others in a positive way.  Together in Action gives us the opportunity to work together. It helps us to give ourselves and others a vision of hope and healing for our homes, our neighbourhoods, and the world.
The money raised this year will be used to fund programs and projects that help our most vulnerable neighbours at home or across the world. Your gifts help to provide counselling, care and prevention services and resources for families and individuals. They also fund items such as food banks, hospice care, handibus, ongoing youth ministries, and help for homeless individuals, families and other important initiatives.

St Peter's goal for Together in Action 2012 is $58,042.00. We have already achieved 59% of our goal.

Funeral Planning and Bereavement Ministry

The Bereavement Ministry offers support to people who have suffered the death of a loved one. Our mission is to journey with the grieving members of the community.
St. Peter’s offers a regular drop-in support group on the 4th Monday of every month. The sessions are held in the Narthex at St. Peter’s Parish at 6:00 p.m. The support group is run by volunteer members of the Pastoral Care team who have completed the Bereavement Education Program from the Diocese of Calgary.
• Everyone is welcome to attend the group
• No need to register
• A chance to share and listen
• Caring and non-judgmental
• Private and confidential
• Mutual respect
• Support for priests in funeral planning

Congratulations to our new Bereavement Team!

Candice, Debbie, Suzanne, Isabel, Judy, Catherine, and Murielle

Here are the new members of the Bereavement team. We can't say enough about the exceptional quality of this course. It was a privilege to attend and now we feel that we are in a place where we can be a companion to the bereaved in their time of need.
